Alaska Communications is seeking a Senior Director of Network Infrastructure & Planning to lead Layer 1 planning and design for our fiber and facility networks. You will own end-to-end infrastructure planning, coordinate with Layer 2 and Layer 3 teams, and translate business demand into actionable capital plans.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree, 12 years of telecom engineering/construction experience, and strong leadership, budgeting, and analytical skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business or construction (or equivalent).
• Twelve years of telecommunications engineering/construction experience.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office; experience with OSP Insight and AutoCAD.
• Strong leadership and project management abilities.

Responsabilités

• Owns end-to-end planning and design accountability for Layer 1 network infrastructure, including OSP fiber, ducts, routes, and records.
• Owns planning and availability accountability for inside plant infrastructure, DC power, racks, and space readiness.
• Coordinate Layer 1 plans with Layer 2/3 teams to ensure resilience, capacity, and service delivery.
• Develops budget inputs, capital forecasts, and business case support for network projects.
