Job summary

Vertex seeks a strategic leader to direct enterprise laboratory technology platforms at its Cell & Gene Therapy sites LC1/2, serving as the Research Site Partner and technology architect.

You will oversee architecture, security, vendor relations, and a high-performing Lab Engineering Support team, translating research needs into platform requirements and advocating for cross-site priorities in a regulated environment. Hybrid or on-site work is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s in technology or related discipline.
• 10+ years’ experience, including 3+ years in Cell & Gene Therapy.
• Proven leadership in enterprise technology operations with regulated environments.
• Strong stakeholder engagement skills and CGT modality familiarity.

Responsibilities

• Oversee platform architecture, delivery, security, and support within GxP and SOX environments.
• Manage vendor relationships, budgets, and modernization efforts such as automation and IoT integration.
• Develop and retain a high-performing Lab Engineering Support team.
• Serve as the site's product owner, translating research needs into platform requirements.
• Advocate for site demands in cross-site prioritization.
