Job summary

Northern Virginia Community College (NOVA) seeks a Director of Software Applications and Support to lead the strategy, implementation, and ongoing management of the college's enterprise software portfolio. You will oversee governance, security, and continuous improvement, while coordinating with the CIO/CTO and campus teams to align with institutional priorities.

Qualifications

• Ability to lead and develop technical staff and manage multiple priorities and vendor release schedules.
• Excellent communication with senior leadership, business owners, vendors, and end users.
• Experience with enterprise application administration across admin, student, academic, and reporting systems.
• Knowledge of application security, RBAC, data protection, and compliance in higher education.
• Experience with vendor management, contracts, licensing, and third-party risk.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership for enterprise software applications and support services.
• Oversee governance, service ownership, access control, data stewardship, and release management.
• Manage vendor relationships, contracts, SLAs, and procurement for enterprise platforms.
• Ensure incident response, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement of software services.
