Job summary

20bloc in Thousand Oaks, CA, seeks a Head of Engineering and Facilities to lead validation efforts and establish the facility management program during cGMP space development.

The role owns transfer of processes into the facility, manufacturing readiness, and equipment qualification, while supporting MSAT. It requires hands-on troubleshooting and strategic planning in a fast-paced startup setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering, bioprocess engineering, biochemical engineering, or another engineering field required.
• 10+ years of professional experience in biopharma, biotech, pharmaceutical manufacturing, technical operations, CQV, engineering, facilities, or related regulated environments.

Responsibilities

• Lead CQV, Facilities, and Site Readiness and manage related protocols and documentation.
• Oversee commissioning and qualification planning, field execution, and acceptance criteria for cGMP use.
• Develop schedules and plans for phase-appropriate technical activities to support clinical manufacturing and long-term scalability.
