Job summary

Escalon Services is seeking a hands-on Head of Engineering to own architecture and build the core instrument for an audience-intelligence platform in entertainment. This is the first full-time technical hire, reporting to the CEO, with a mandate to turn an early architecture into a scalable product.

You will lead design across ML and data pipelines, mentor a lean team, and collaborate with product and business development. Remote role with light travel; authorized to work in the United States.

Qualifications

• 0-to-1 experience building and scaling systems from scratch is essential.
• Not currently in a founder or co-founder role; available for full-time permanent commitment.
• Experience applying AI/ML to ambiguous, sparse, or subjective data, ideally in a recommendation-engine, matching-system, or behavioral-modeling context.
• Familiarity with LLMs and interest in categorizing and scoring qualitative data.
• Strong communicator who can explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Own instrument architecture end-to-end and build scalable systems.
• Apply ML and data science to unstructured data to identify meaningful patterns.
• Design data schemas and scoring frameworks for qualitative inputs.
• Translate technical concepts clearly for stakeholders and the CEO.
• Shape the product roadmap with CEO and department heads.
• Begin building a small technical team as the company scales.
• Stay hands-on as product and direction evolve.
