THE ROLE

As Head of Engineering, you’ll be responsible for building the engineering function from the ground up while contributing directly to code and infrastructure. You’ll work closely with product and AI leads to design and deliver scalable, production-grade AI applications for enterprise use. This is a hands-on leadership role that blends architecture, development, and team building.

• Design and own the technical architecture across front-end, back-end, and infrastructure
• Contribute high-quality, scalable code and set up core infrastructure for AI product deployment
• Establish best practices for code quality, CI/CD, version control, and documentation
• Build and maintain environments for local, staging, and production deployment
• Set up infrastructure for deploying LLM-based workflows (prompt engineering, embeddings, vector search)
• Lead hiring of engineers across full-stack, AI, and data roles
• Implement lightweight processes for delivery, collaboration, and task management
• Own the engineering roadmap and ensure technical quality across all builds
• Collaborate cross-functionally to scope and ship client-facing AI products
• Foster a high-performing, startup-minded engineering culture

YOUR EXPERIENCE

• 10+ years in software/AI engineering, including 2+ years in a technical leadership role
• Bachelor’s or Master’s in Computer Science or a related field
• Deep experience in backend or full-stack development, modern APIs, and cloud architecture
• Strong Python skills with hands-on experience integrating LLMs (e.g. OpenAI, Hugging Face)
• Familiarity with LangChain, vector databases, or retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) workflows is a plus
• Solid understanding of DevOps, including Docker, CI/CD, and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
• Experience in client services, consulting, or fast-paced delivery environments is helpful
• Preference of this style of work in a boutique or start-up environment
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work cross-functionally in a hybrid team
