Job summary

ActAI is seeking a Head of Design to own product design quality across our consumer products and brands. This is a hands‑on design leadership role with direct involvement in our most important products and user experiences.

You will set standards across design systems, interfaces, and interaction design, and lead collaborations with product and engineering from concept to production. A strong portfolio and hands‑on execution are essential to shape AI-powered experiences for millions of users.

Qualifications

• Portfolio of shipped consumer technology with meaningful usage.
• Strong product and interaction design capability, not primarily people management.
• Excellent visual judgment and attention to interface details.
• Ability to prototype and communicate product interactions directly.
• Experience collaborating with product and engineering on shipped products.

Responsibilities

• Set the design direction and quality bar across group products.
• Review critical user journeys, concepts and interfaces.
• Translate complex financial and AI workflows into simple consumer experiences.
• Set standards across product design, interaction, visual design and design systems.
• Review shipped products and identify usability problems.
• Work with product and engineering from early concepts through production.
• Recruit and assess senior product, UI and brand designers.

Our mission is to build proactive applications for anyone in the world, who are not used to complex prompting. We aim to bring intelligence to conversations, errands, organising and workflows, with minimal to no prompting.

Our first application is an agent-first mobile communication app. We believe building applications that users use daily for communication, coordination and collaboration needs will help integrate AI into their lives. The net effect is to eliminate misinformation, achieve low coordination costs, enable high quality tasks and collaboration at scale with minimal or little prompting.

• Turn complex financial and AI workflows into simple consumer experiences.
• Set standards across product design, interaction, visual design and design systems.
• Review shipped products and identify specific usability and design problems.
• Work with product and engineering from early concepts through production.
• Recruit and assess senior product, UI and brand designers.
