Position Summary

This position will oversee the daily, weekly, and monthly operational tasks and will be responsible for contributing to the overall goals of the department and the credit union while working to uphold the Credit Union’s core values, in accordance with all regulations, policies, and procedures.

Essential Responsibilities and Accountabilities

Department Management

  • Oversee Deposit Services activities and processing including, but not limited to, the IRA program, overdraft privilege program, new deposit account opening and maintenance, member information files/CIF records, dormant account maintenance, reporting and escheat processing, deposit account item postings and transaction processing, statement information, year-end reporting, maintenance of deposit account interest rates and postings, member returned mail, account status information, deposit account documentation and quality control, asset verifications, legal/subpoena processing (including non-deposit accounts), CD maintenance and rollovers, and other services that may emerge.
  • Oversee Digital Delivery services, activities, and processing including, but not limited to, ATM/Debit cards, ACH settlement, remote/mobile check deposit, ATM balancing, Business ACH Origination, Cash Management Services eStatement, and other technologies and platforms that may emerge.

Compliance

  • Actively participate in deposit product operations and and external examinations and recommend changes in procedures and policies to ensure compliance.
  • Maintain and update deposit related forms and disclosures as required by regulatory and procedural changes.
  • Work with the department to identify opportunities to ensure account and member compliance is adhered to, including identifying and tracking items to completion.
  • Perform all duties in line with all Credit Union policies and procedures and all state and federal regulations. Work with auditors, regulators, examiners, members, and other senior/department managers as necessary to resolve any related compliance, legal, or member issues related to deposit operations or digital banking.
  • Awareness of industry best practices and new emerging technologies & services.

Employee and Staff Development

  • Manage and supervise by motivating team members and serve as a coach and mentor by providing training, support, and guidance in order to build long lasting relationships.
  • Effective management in maintaining an engaged, positive, highly motivated, well-trained staff.
  • Ensure all employees have appropriate training and development plans, including the recommendation of appropriate external and internal training as necessary for staff development.
  • Communicate organizational updates and initiatives to staff in a timely and effective manner.
  • Attend training and seminars as requested by Supervisor and mandated by the Credit Union; attend professional and vendor user groups, conferences, etc. in order to share knowledge of industry standards with employees and actively maintain ties with other industry professionals to stay current on industry impacts to their department/organization.

Knowledge and Skills

  • 3 to 5 years of financial institution experience in a deposit related role
  • 1 to 2 years of supervisory experience
  • Strong oral and written communication skills to be able to effectively communicate with all areas of the Credit Union
  • Working knowledge of retail and deposit related operational policies, procedures, practices and regulations

ADA Requirements

Physical Requirements

  • Perform primarily sedentary work with limited physical exertion and occasionally lifting up to 25 lbs.
  • Must be capable of climbing / descending stairs in emergency situation.
  • Must be able to operate routine office equipment.
  • Must be able to routinely perform work on computer for an average of 6-8 hours per day.
  • Must be capable of regular, reliable, and timely attendance.

Working Conditions

  • Must be able to routinely perform work indoors in climate-controlled shared work area with minimal noise.
