Job summary

Vanguard seeks a Senior Manager of Data Science to lead a team delivering diagnostic, predictive, and prescriptive analytics across marketing, supply chain, and economic forecasting. You will mentor researchers, shape analytics strategy, and partner with business leaders to translate insights into actions.

Responsibilities include project leadership, model validation, stakeholder engagement, and developing scalable data mining architectures.

Qualifications

• Minimum of five or more years in data science roles.
• Expertise in NLP, Generative and Agentic Solutions.
• Deep understanding of Transformer Architectures and improving performance of Agents.
• Programming skills to access, transform and prepare large scale data for ML modeling.
• Experience utilizing statistical and machine learning methods.
• Experience in creating explainable ML and attribution methodologies.
• Undergraduate degree in Engineering, Analytics, Applied Mathematics, Economics, Statistics or related field.
• Graduate degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversees deep dive diagnostic, predictive, and prescriptive analytics to support data-driven decisions.
• Manages a team of data scientists for analytics projects across Vanguard.
• Identifies data inconsistencies and fills data gaps.
• Engages with stakeholders to translate business processes into analytic approaches.
• Guides test design, model validation, and analytics quality across initiatives.
• Executes plans to achieve department objectives and collaborates with heads on near-term goals.
• Delivers insight presentations and action recommendations to leadership.
• Describes data mining architectures and statistical reporting to identify actionable trends.
