Our client is an early stage AI startup based in NYC specializing in AI/ML powered document redaction solutions. Founded in 2018, the company offers a cloud-based platform designed to help organizations efficiently and securely remove sensitive information from documents.

The Opportunity:

Our client is seeking a HANDS ON leader with production-grade NLP + PDF processing experience, ideally someone who's operated in a lean environment and can scale a small data science function while still building. The hire will inherit one team member and gradually build the team.

The Skills/Requirement Needed to Succeed:

• Strong NLP expertise, particularly in PII detection and Named Entity Recognition (NER)
• Hands-on experience with PDF processing for data extraction and model training
• Python fluency
• Comfortable working in production environments (not sandbox/data lab only)
• Demonstrated ability to bring models to market and continuously optimize in real-world settings
• MLOps knowledge: Experience with SageMaker preferred, but not required (manageable learning curve)
• Startup mindset: Scrappy, execution-oriented, collaborative
• Someone who has shipped models and seen them used by customers
