Job summary

SimpliSafe is building a multi-quarter Enterprise Data Platform program to move our data and analytics stack onto a modern lakehouse. We seek a Senior Manager, Data Platform Engineering to lead the team that buys, builds, runs, and evolves that platform, partnering with vendors and the Data Engineering team to deprecate legacy infrastructure.

You'll manage the current platform, review designs, and ensure security, governance, and reliability while aligning with the analytics and data science

Qualifications

8+ years in data platform, data engineering, or infrastructure engineering.
5+ years managing engineering teams, with track record of hiring senior and staff engineers.
Built and operated a modern cloud lakehouse in production (Databricks or comparable).
Led a platform migration with the legacy environment in production.

Responsibilities

Lead and grow the team of platform, DevOps, and data engineers including a Data Architect.
Own the platform roadmap and ensure reliability, cost, and tech debt balance.
Own core platform components including environments, CI/CD, and automation.
Own ingestion and integration across batch, CDC, and APIs.
