Job summary

Omnicom is seeking a Director of Data Operations to lead the strategy, development, and governance of data across agency teams and client accounts in a hybrid Chicago-based role. You will drive BI solutions, data integrity, and automation, partnering with Media, Analytics, Strategy, and Finance to deliver actionable insights.

The role demands 8+ years in data operations, 5+ years in an ad agency setting, and strong leadership.

Qualifications

• 8+ years’ experience in data operations and/or business intelligence.
• 5–6+ years’ experience in an advertising agency environment (ad operations, analytics, digital investment, or related disciplines).
• 6+ years’ experience working with digital media data (ad server, digital, search, social, video, offline, etc.).
• 4–6+ years’ experience in data governance and quality processes within data warehousing, ETL, and BI environments.
• 5–6+ years’ experience in management roles, including managing direct reports and offshore teams.
• 5–6+ years’ experience in client-facing roles.
• Demonstrated success in leading the design, development, and delivery of data management frameworks and reporting applications.

Responsibilities

• Strategic leadership for data operations, BI solutions, and governance across agency teams and client accounts.
• Lead adoption and enhancement of BI tools, data warehousing, and automation; standardize data and reporting apps.
• Collaborate across internal teams, vendor partners, and clients to align data practices.
• Oversee project planning, resource allocation, and timely delivery; manage offshore/onshore teams.
• Direct data quality, documentation, and compliance; drive continual process optimization.
• Mentor managers and analysts; foster a collaborative data operations culture.
• Act as SME for client initiatives and promote data best practices across ecosystems.
