Job summary

Lazard Asset Management (LAM) seeks a Head of Data Engineering to lead modernization of its data landscape. You will define the end-to-end data strategy, own the cloud-native platform, and drive governance, security, and data products across the firm.

You will mentor a high-performing team and partner with business, AI, and IT stakeholders to deliver scalable data solutions that enable AI, self-service analytics, and compliant data operations.

Qualifications

• 15+ years in data engineering or related, with 5+ years in senior leadership.
• Experience modernizing legacy data estates in asset management or regulated finance.
• Experience building cloud-native data platforms (Azure, AWS, or GCP) with data products.
• Hands-on Python and SQL, with DataOps tooling and IaC (Terraform).
• Proven data foundations for AI/ML and governed self-service analytics.
• Strong data security, governance, and regulatory knowledge (SEC, FINRA, GDPR, etc.).
• Excellent communicator translating technical vision to business outcomes.
• Bachelor's degree or higher in CS/Engineering/Math or related field.
