Job summary

Harvard Medical School seeks a Senior Director, Data Architecture to lead the data architecture function, directing a team of eight and two senior leaders. You will own the end-to-end design of HMS data ecosystem, including Data Lake, Data Mart, and Data Hub, driving cloud modernization and platform standards.

You will collaborate with IT leadership and academic units to ensure data governance, security, and accessibility for school-wide decision making, while mentoring engineers and aligning

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Systems, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in data architecture, data engineering, or enterprise data management.
• Demonstrated experience leading at least one full-scale enterprise cloud migration.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Data Architecture function and direct a team of 8 FTEs and two senior leaders.
• Own the end-to-end design of HMS data ecosystem across Data Lake, Data Mart, and Data Hub.
• Direct cloud modernization, migrate legacy on-premises estate to cloud-native architecture.
• Manage the data architecture program budget and vendor investments.
• Define enterprise data governance, master data management, retention, and security policy.
