Job summary

Attain is seeking a Head of Data Apps Engineering to own the engineering direction for consumer data apps and to represent the data apps business at the executive level. You will lead a small team of mobile and backend engineers, contribute code, and partner with product for the portfolio roadmap.

You will shape architecture, drive delivery, and push for scalable, data-driven experiences across apps, focusing on efficiency, retention, and growth with AI-assisted tooling.

Qualifications

• Requires 10+ years of software engineering, with ownership of consumer mobile apps.
• Leadership experience in small teams is required, not a manager-of-managers role.
• Hands-on coding and architectural decision-making are expected.
• Experience presenting to executives and stakeholders is important.
• Background in rewards/loyalty or data products is a strong plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead architecture and hands-on development across the app portfolio.
• Partner with product on roadmap, feasibility, and sequencing.
• Track retention and usage to guide engineering focus.
• Harden shared components to enable rapid app onboarding.
• Manage a small team of mobile and backend engineers.
• Represent data apps in executive and planning forums.
• Leverage AI-assisted development to maximize team output.
