Job summary

Burq, Inc. is hiring a Head of Data & AI to build the intelligence powering Burq’s delivery platform. You will lead a world-class data-and-ML stack, define strategy, make architectural calls, and ship production models that move the business.

This player-coach role combines hands-on coding and leadership, partnering with engineering, product, and AI leadership to shape data-driven product decisions across the company.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in data/ML, including 2+ years in leadership owning a data or ML platform.
• Player-coach who leads while contributing technically.
• Experience building data/ML products that serve product and business goals.
• Familiarity with modern AI/LLM and agentic data work is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Own the full data platform including warehouse, streaming and BI infra.
• Build ML models for forecasting, optimization, ranking, and real-time decisions.
• Stand up ML systems: feature pipelines, training, serving, monitoring, drift.
• Design learning loops to continuously improve models and outcomes.
• Lead and grow the data and ML team including hiring and roadmap intake.
• Partner with product, engineering, sales, and finance on data-driven decisions.
