Job summary

SEKO Logistics in Schaumburg, IL is seeking a Senior Compliance Manager for Customs brokerage to lead teams across multiple locations, ensuring compliance with CBP regulations, HTS classification, and duty/tax collection while guiding automated entry processes. The role focuses on developing strategy, supervising licensed brokers, managing budgets, and partnering with Sales, Ops, and clients to deliver accurate, timely import/export solutions.

Qualifications

• Deep knowledge of U.S. customs regulations (19 CFR), tariff classification (HTSUS), valuation, country of origin, and import/export processes.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess complex regulatory issues and develop strategic solutions.
• Knowledge of Free Trade Agreements (including USMCA), CTPAT, PGAs, ACE/ABI, and related regulations.
• Experience with CBP programs and reconciliation processes.
• Experience with high-volume, cross-border e-commerce or express clearance operations.
• Active U.S. Licensed Customs Broker (LCB) in good standing.

Responsibilities

• Set CHB product priorities and multi-year roadmaps with managers to ensure compliance and excellence.
• Lead supervisory personnel, licensed brokers, entry writers, and compliance staff for customer retention and satisfaction.
• Train and mentor team members on customs compliance and best practices.
• Oversee all customs clearance processes for accuracy and timeliness across air, ocean, truck/cross-border and e-commerce shipments.
• Establish and monitor KPIs for compliance, accuracy, timeliness, productivity, and cost-to-serve.
