Forsyth Barnes, a strategic external partner, seeks a seasoned Manager, Data Science to lead a Customer Data Science cadre for a retail client. You will shape data-enabled strategies, accelerate customer growth, and drive business value across cross-functional teams.

The role requires 5+ years of leadership in data science within retail analytics, strong SQL/Python, and expertise in CLV and predictive customer modeling.

Qualifications

• 5+ years leading data science teams with hands‑on analytics experience.
• Proven track record in retail or consumer analytics.
• Strong SQL and Python skills; Power BI experience.
• Expertise in CLV, segmentation, and predictive modeling.
• Outstanding stakeholder management and communication, capable of influencing at executive levels.
• Familiarity with AI/LLM initiatives is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Direct and expand a data science team focused on customer analytics and predictive modeling.
• Collaborate with business leaders to convert analytics into actionable plans that boost revenue and engagement.
• Own CLV, segmentation, and predictive models end-to-end—from data prep to deployment.
• Guide and mentor the team, fostering experimentation and scalable, production‑ready solutions.
• Partner with IT, data engineering, and marketing to ensure governance and adoption of models across the organization.
• Communicate findings to senior stakeholders with compelling storytelling and business impact framing.
• Monitor advances in AI/LLM and assess relevance to customer analytics programs.
