Job summary

Salem University is seeking an Executive Director of Teaching, Learning & Educational Technology to provide strategic leadership for curriculum development, assessment, instructional design, and LMS operations across Academic Affairs.

Reporting to the provost, you will guide curriculum governance, accreditation activities, faculty development, and the use of AI and educational technologies to advance student success and academic quality at Salem University.

Qualifications

  • Earned master's degree in a relevant field (Higher Education, Curriculum & Instruction, Educational Technology, Assessment, Educational Leadership).
  • Doctorate preferred for advanced leadership roles.
  • Minimum of five years of progressively responsible leadership in higher education.
  • Experience leading curriculum development, assessment, and instructional technology initiatives.
  • Experience supporting accreditation processes and standards.
  • Knowledge of Higher Learning Commission accreditation standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Experience leading faculty development initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic leadership for curriculum development, governance, and documentation processes.
  • Coordinate curriculum proposals from development to institutional approval and implementation.
  • Chair the University Curriculum Committee and ensure governance activities.
  • Develop agendas, materials, minutes, and documentation of curriculum decisions.
  • Oversee curriculum workflows, timelines, and approvals.
  • Collaborate with Registrar and Institutional Effectiveness on catalog accuracy.
  • Develop policies, forms, templates, and SOPs for curriculum management.
  • Guide faculty and academic leadership on curriculum development and approvals.
  • Support development and approval of new programs, certificates, and courses.
  • Promote transparency and efficiency in curriculum governance and program management.
  • Support academic program assessment and continuous improvement.
