Job summary
Aotearoa Infinite Academy, New Zealand's first online charter school, is expanding with a Department Lead for Creative Arts. You will shape the department's vision and design innovative online courses that leverage digital studios, recording, and live performances.
You will also showcase student work to families and the wider community. The role includes teaching components, leadership responsibilities, and a focus on integrating arts into NCEA pathways while building a vibrant online arts
Qualifications
- A registered teacher with a full practising certificate and specialist expertise in at least one creative arts discipline.
- Leadership experience, or a strong record of leading programmes, productions or exhibitions.
- Imagination about how digital tools can open up creative learning, not limit it.
- Strong understanding of NCEA arts assessment, including portfolios and performance.
- Energy to build a creative community among students who learn from many places.
Responsibilities
- Lead department vision and set the direction for creative arts from Year 9 to Year 13 across disciplines.
- Design innovative online courses using digital studios, recording, virtual exhibitions and live performance.
- Showcase student work online and in person for whānau and the community.
- Connect learning to NCEA, Scholarship, tertiary study and creative industries.
- Lead, coach and appraise the department's teachers and cultivate a culture of creativity.
