The Role

You will lead Block’s Compliance Partnerships Program, reporting to the Head of Business Product Compliance and Partnerships. You will be responsible for maintaining strong, cohesive relationships with partner banks and strategic partners from a compliance perspective, overseeing compliance risk management of third-party vendors. You will lead a team, develop the program strategy, oversee engagements with current and potential partners, and drive compliance initiatives with company-wide impact. You will work closely with business stakeholders, compliance, and counsel teams to advance the compliance program, focusing on partner and program risk and due diligence.

You Will
  • Develop and maintain Block’s strategic vision for its Compliance Partnerships program.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize engagement processes with current and prospective partners on compliance matters.
  • Ensure thorough oversight and due diligence on the compliance programs of partners.
  • Enable partner banks to oversee Block’s compliance program effectively, ensuring timely and accurate responses to due diligence requests.
  • Present Block’s compliance program to current and prospective partners.
  • Lead a team responsible for understanding and documenting partner program requirements and raising awareness across teams.
  • Manage projects involving multiple departments, partners, products, and regions.
  • Coordinate activities with other compliance and business functions.
  • Interpret and communicate complex regulatory requirements, collaborating with governance, legal, and operational teams.
  • Build relationships with senior compliance personnel at partner banks to foster collaboration.
  • Contribute to policy, standards, procedures, and control design.
  • Participate in strategic projects vital to the long-term success of Block’s compliance efforts.
You Have
  • 8+ years in a senior compliance role within financial services.
  • 3+ years of people management experience.
  • Proven ability to build credibility with business leaders, external partners, and regulators.
  • Experience in building and managing compliance programs.
  • Deep understanding of risks and regulations in consumer and commercial financial services.
  • Knowledge of consumer protection, BSA/AML, sanctions, and financial crimes compliance.
  • Experience in complex negotiations and due diligence with diverse financial institutions.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and influence skills.
  • Experience coaching teams towards an enterprise mindset.
