CodePath is reprogramming higher education to create the first generation of AI-native engineers, CTOs, and founders.

About the Role

Compensation: $165,000-200,000 per year

As the Head of Communications & Brand, you will be responsible for shaping and executing a high-impact communications strategy that strengthens CodePath’s position as the premier educator for CS students and a driving force in tech education equity. Your leadership will expand our reach, elevate our brand, and accelerate our trajectory toward becoming the most recognized and trusted name in EdTech.

In this role, you will define and implement a comprehensive brand strategy that amplifies CodePath’s impact, ensuring that our success, student outcomes, and industry influence are communicated effectively across key audiences. You will lead strategic media engagement, establish thought leadership platforms, and drive innovative storytelling that connects with donors, partners, and the broader tech community.

As CodePath continues to scale, you will be instrumental in shaping how we communicate our next phase of growth, aligning our brand with our long-term vision and ensuring that every aspect of our messaging reflects our commitment to closing equity gaps in tech. Working cross-functionally, you will develop initiatives that enhance our employer brand, attract new partnerships, and solidify CodePath as the definitive leader in CS education.

This is a high-impact, high-visibility leadership role for a bold, execution-driven strategist who thrives in fast-paced environments and is ready to transform how the world sees CodePath.

Key Activities
Brand Development & Market Positioning
  1. Develop and execute a long-term brand strategy that differentiates CodePath within the EdTech and nonprofit landscape, ensuring alignment with key audiences and industry trends.
  2. Develop a compelling and engaging narrative that connects with key industry's most influential audiences (or stakeholders) and strengthens CodePath’s positioning as a top-tier organization.
  3. Work cross-functionally with internal teams to ensure brand consistency in all marketing and communication efforts.
Strategic Communications & Thought Leadership
  1. Develop and implement a long-term communications strategy that positions CodePath as the leading voice in tech education equity.
  2. Leverage data-driven insights to refine messaging, drive engagement, and enhance brand awareness among donors, partners, and students.
  3. Ensure consistent messaging across all communication channels, reinforcing CodePath’s impact and mission.
  4. Oversee social media strategy to align with overall communication goals and maintain thought leadership in the EdTech space.
  5. Partner with the CEO and executives to craft high-impact narratives for major announcements, investor meetings, and public engagements.
Media & Public Relations
  1. Build and manage relationships with key media outlets, influencers, and strategic partners to expand CodePath’s visibility and reach.
  2. Develop high-impact storytelling and media strategies that resonate with mainstream and emerging platforms.
  3. Serve as a spokesperson and thought leader, positioning CodePath as a premier advocate for equitable tech education.
  4. Identify and manage media opportunities, ensuring messaging aligns with CodePath’s objectives and strategic goals.
Qualifications
Experience
  1. 7+ years in communications, brand strategy, or marketing, with a strong track record in fast paced, high performing EdTech, nonprofit, or mission-driven organizations.
  2. Experience leading strategic communications initiatives that drive measurable engagement and impact.
  3. Demonstrated success in building brand positioning and thought leadership in competitive markets.
Skills
  1. Strategic Execution: Proven ability to align high-level strategic thinking with operational excellence, ensuring seamless execution of communication initiatives.
  2. Storytelling & Messaging: Exceptional skills in narrative development, crafting compelling messages that resonate across diverse audiences.

Compensation

CodePath has standardized salaries based on the position’s level, no matter where you live. For this role, we’re hiring for a Senior Director level position at an annual salary of $165,000 to $200,000. Salary is determined based on your relevant experience and skills as evaluated through our interview process.

Pay range: $165,000 - $200,000 USD

This is a 100% remote position—work from anywhere in the U.S.! CodePath prioritizes employee well-being with a competitive benefits package to support your health, financial security, and work-life balance.
