Job summary

KIPP Public Schools Northern California is seeking a Director of College & Career Counseling to lead the school-based College & Career Counseling Department, ensuring a cohesive program aligned with the school’s mission.

Reporting to the High School Leader, the DCC will manage counselors, develop the postsecondary match strategy, and coordinate data-driven activities and events to support student college access and success.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of College Match/Admissions experience (preferably in CA).
• 2-3 years of teaching experience (preferred).
• Experience leading high-performance teams and managing a diverse team.
• Track record of success working with high school students/families in the college counseling process.
• Track record of success in managing and supervising adults.
• Previous experience in using data to drive decision making.

Responsibilities

• Manage a team of high school based College & Career Counselors at the school site, with weekly check-ins for 11th/12th graders.
• Lead Postsecondary Match strategy and annual plan to meet match goals.
• Plan and execute parent engagement strategies related to postsecondary work.
• Collaborate with SpEd and other teams to align student support.
• Track and analyze college data to inform actions and improvements.
• Lead and participate in events like College visits, nights, and signing days.
