Job summary

KIPP Public Schools Northern California is seeking a Director of College & Career Counseling to lead the school-based department and align postsecondary pathways with student interests and the school's mission. The DCC will supervise counselors, partner with districts and universities, and drive FAFSA/CADAA completion, college matching, and equity-focused outcomes for grades 9–12.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of College Match/College Admissions Experience (prefer CA).
• 2-3 years of teaching experience preferred.
• Experience leading high-performance, diverse teams.
• Proven success guiding high school students and families through college counseling.
• Strong data-informed decision making and use of student data.

Responsibilities

• Lead a HS-based College & Career Counseling team with weekly check-ins.
• Oversee performance management and coaching, including PDPs.
• Align college/career counseling with school mission and equity goals.
• Plan postsecondary match strategy and annual goals with data analysis.
• Develop and deliver parent engagement and college access initiatives.
• Coordinate with admissions, CTE, and community partners.
• Lead events such as College visits, nights, and program showcases.
