Job summary

The Cafesjian Art Trust Museum seeks a Director of Collections and Registration to lead the care, documentation, and strategy for its modern and contemporary holdings. The role oversees the database, cataloging, registrations for acquisitions and loans, and the museum archive, collaborating with curators and conservators.

The position also directs exhibition planning and installation, budgets, and policy development, while guiding staff and ensuring compliance with professional standards.

Qualifications

• BA in Museum Studies, Art History, Library and Information Science or related field.
• 3 years of Collections or Registration experience in a museum.
• Knowledge of museum best practices regarding care, handling, display, and storage of objects.
• Experience working with art and other objects of varying sizes and materials.

Responsibilities

• Manage and document the museum's collection in the database and catalogs.
• Oversee registration for acquisitions, loans, and dispositions and archive related records.
• Plan and document photography sessions, shipping logistics, and couriering for collection objects.
• Lead inventory of the collection and supervise the preparation team.
• Coordinate exhibitions' logistics, timelines, and documentation.
• Maintain the institutional archive and respond to researchers' requests.
• Ensure preservation, handling, and safety practices for objects.
