Job summary

The Baltimore Museum of Art seeks a dynamic Director of Registration to lead all aspects of collections care, documentation, and stewardship for a premier national venue. The Director oversees a team of six professionals and serves as senior exhibitions registrar, guiding 1–2 exhibitions annually.

Qualifications

• Good communicator and stellar team player with a can-do attitude.
• Experience leading and supervising a museum registration team.
• Familiarity with best practices in collection management, packing, shipping and insurance.

Responsibilities

• Oversee Registrar’s Office and supervise staff, contractors, volunteers, and interns.
• Lead 1–2 exhibitions annually as registrar of record; manage budgets, contracts and feasibility.
• Ensure accurate documentation for ~100,000 artworks and manage inventory control.
• Coordinate packing, shipping, insurance, and condition reporting for loans and exhibitions.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory and security requirements and emergency readiness.
