Job summary

Alliance Health seeks a Director of Data Platform Engineering to lead a cloud-native Lakehouse transformation and enterprise data strategy. This remote role requires NC residency for occasional onsite meetings at the Morrisville home office.

You will drive governance, security, and scalability across data domains, mentoring an engineering team and aligning technology with regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field with six years of data engineering or enterprise data platform leadership.
• Six years in increasing responsibilities in data engineering/architecture with three years in people management.
• Experience leading enterprise scale data platforms on Microsoft Azure, including Lakehouse or modernization initiatives.
• Healthcare regulatory experience with data security, privacy, and compliance outcomes.
• Microsoft Databricks Data Engineer Professional or comparable certification preferred within 12 months.

Responsibilities

• Define, own, and execute the enterprise data platform strategy and roadmap.
• Lead transition from legacy EDW to a cloud-native Lakehouse and data platform.
• Establish platform success metrics for scalability, reliability, and cost.
• Oversee architecture designs and governance across data domains.
• Mentor and grow the Data Platform Engineering team and governance functions.
• Provide executive oversight on data domain migrations and modernization delivery.
