Citizens for Responsible Energy Solutions (CRES) seeks a Director of Communications to execute a comprehensive strategy and strengthen the organization's public profile. You will craft messaging for legislators, policymakers, media and the public, aligning with CRES's climate and clean energy advocacy goals.

The role reports to the VP of Communications and collaborates with Government Affairs and External Relations teams to expand CRES’s reach and influence.

Qualifikationen

• 6+ years of communications, press, or media relations experience in policy/advocacy.
• Outstanding writing and communication skills.
• Experience writing press releases and op-eds.
• Existing relationships with beltway reporters and Capitol Hill communicators.

Aufgaben

• Draft external communications materials: press releases, advisories, talking points, op-eds and remarks.
• Support spokespeople for external speaking engagements with briefing materials.
• Monitor news and social media to assess sentiment and opportunities for messaging.
• Lead development of recurring communications products, including newsletters.
• Build and maintain relationships with Congressional communications staff.
