Head of Characterization for Small Molecules

Role: Head of Characterization for Small Molecules, overseeing strategies and operations across discovery, development, and manufacturing.

Responsibilities

• establish and lead a comprehensive characterization vision
• implement advanced analytical techniques (MS, NMR, microscopy)
• modernize platforms via emerging technologies
• build and mentor a high-performing team
• collaborate with analytical, manufacturing, and quality units to embed insights into decision-making
• External engagement through partnerships, publications, and conferences is also key

Requirements

• Ph.D. (5-7+ years) or MSc (10-13+ years) in life sciences with deep expertise in analytical characterization within pharmaceutical CMC, including advanced techniques, regulatory support, and process understanding

Preferred

• experience leading modernization initiatives, managing external collaborations, and working in complex, regulated environments

High-Value

focus on small and mid molecules (oligos, peptides), with an emphasis on analytical development supporting drug discovery, manufacturing, and regulatory submissions.
