Job summary

California State University, Channel Islands is seeking a seasoned Facilities Operations Manager to lead and optimize the operation of campus facilities, grounds, and utilities. You will supervise managers and staff, oversee contractors, and drive preventive maintenance aligned with safety, reliability, and regulatory standards.

The role requires strategic planning, budget oversight, and coordination with campus leadership to ensure continuous operation and timely project delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and progressively responsible experience.
• Minimum 10 years of progressively responsible experience in facilities management.
• Experience leading managers, supervisors, staff, and contracted service providers.
• Knowledge of facilities maintenance, preventive maintenance, and regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities

• Lead operational functions of Facilities Services & Public Works and oversee multiple trades.
• Develop and administer a comprehensive maintenance program with standards and performance measures.
• Ensure safe, compliant operation of campus utility and infrastructure systems.
• Coordinate inspections, permits, and maintenance records for regulated facilities.
