Job summary

The University of California, Santa Cruz seeks a Director of Emergency Management & Mission Continuity to lead campus planning, response, and recovery. This senior role directs the EOC, coordinates FEMA/Cal OES compliance, and partners with city and state agencies to protect students, staff, and facilities.

The position is full-time, 100% time, with a 40-hour workweek, day shifts, and comprehensive benefits.

Responsibilities

• Develops, maintains, and updates the campus Emergency Operations Plan (EOP) and related policies, ensuring alignment with FEMA and Cal OES standards.
• Monitors compliance with NIMS, SEMS, and ICS, adapting provisions for campus use and ongoing legislation.
• Develops and conducts training and exercises for campus leadership and staff in emergency management and ICS usage.
• Maintains and tests emergency management software and systems (e.g., WebEOC) and coordinates their integration into campus processes.
• Serves as primary on-call Emergency Management Duty Officer and oversees the campus EOC operations during crises.
