Job summary

The University of Georgia is seeking a Director of Broadcast Technologies/Chief Engineer to lead Georgia Athletics broadcasting operations, delivering first‑class experiences for football and other events. You will oversee control rooms, venue systems, and remote broadcasts, with hands‑on engineering and supervisory responsibilities.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in live television broadcast, live streaming, and video board production.
  • Expert understanding of broadcast control rooms, production staffing, and modern broadcast pathways.
  • Familiarity with equipment such as Ross Acuity and Carbonite production switchers, Sony HSC 300 R and HDC 3200/3500 Cameras, Evertz routing, Telecast and Evertz fiber converters, Evertz Bravo, Riedel Intercom, Ross Xpresision CG, and Evertz MIV.

Responsibilities

  • Provide oversight of daily operations and reliability of UGAAA control rooms and remote broadcast locations.
  • Supervise assigned staff: hiring, training, scheduling, performance evaluation, and daily oversight.
  • Provide Tier‑One production support during events for troubleshooting and escalation of signal or equipment issues.
  • Install, maintain, and operate control‑room and venue‑specific systems supporting linear and streaming television and in‑venue videoboards.
  • Serve as technical liaison for broadcast partners; schedule and coordinate control‑room and remote productions to support multiple simultaneous broadcasts.
  • Provide engineering support for linear broadcasts and digital/streaming shows, ensuring all chain elements meet network specifications.
  • Lead instant replay systems to meet UGAAA and SEC requirements.
