Job summary

The State of Michigan's Licensing and Regulatory Affairs department (LARA) seeks a leader to direct the Audit and Risk Management Section and staff, overseeing audit, risk management, and program evaluation activities. The role involves ensuring accuracy and consistency in licensing, inspections, and complaint follow-ups while applying independent judgment to recommend actions.

You will work with methodologies, procedures, and exercises, and you will help shape department responses to regulatory

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in any major.
• Four years of professional experience, including two years equivalent to the experienced (P11) level or one year equivalent to the advanced (12) level.
• Education and experience substitutions: two years of safety/regulatory or law enforcement at level 14 or one year at level 15 may substitute for the education and experience requirements.

Responsibilities

• Directs the work of the Audit and Risk Management Section and staff.
• Executes audit and risk management methodologies and practices for the department.
• Uses independent judgment to recommend appropriate courses of action for the department.
