Job summary

National Conference of Bar Examiners (NCBE) seeks an Associate Director of Assessment Development in Madison, Wisconsin to lead content creation and form construction for bar exam programs. You will work with subject matter experts, psychometricians, and operations to ensure high-quality, fair, and reliable assessments.

The role collaborates across departments, guides item drafting and review, and oversees staff editors.

Qualifications

Graduate of an ABA-approved law school and admitted to the bar in at least one jurisdiction.
At least 10 years of significant professional legal experience with a demonstrated knowledge of professional responsibility law and a willingness to develop additional expertise in the relevant subject-matter.
Ability to develop working relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including subject matter experts.
Proficiency in MS Word and Excel.
High level of organizational and time management skills.

Responsibilities

Oversee development of assessment content including items, forms, grading material, study aids, technical documentation, and other materials.
Collaborate with the operations team on production schedules, security procedures, and staffing/resource allocation for timely delivery of materials.
Advise on measurement specialization across programs and contribute expertise as required.
Assist with recruitment and training of subject matter experts and ensure proper review processes.
Develop presentations for meetings, conferences, and seminars; travel to committee meetings or conferences as needed.
