Job summary

Latent is hiring a Head of Applied AI to lead production AI capabilities powering its healthcare-focused products. You will own Latent Agent, evaluation frameworks, and foundational AI systems, shaping choices on post-training, prompts, and off-the-shelf models.

This is a technical and organizational leadership role, partnering with Product and Engineering to translate AI capabilities into measurable health-system outcomes.

Qualifications

• Built and shipped production-grade LLM agents.
• Owned live production AI systems with reliability and on-call responsibilities.
• Trained or fine-tuned models and measured impact on product outcomes.
• Judgment on post-training, prompting, and off-the-shelf capabilities.
• Led teams that shipped products with significant leadership responsibility.
• Ability to balance strategy with technical detail and provide guidance.
• Partnered with Product and stakeholders to deliver business outcomes.
• Experience building AI for domains with deep context or sensitive data.
• Communicated reasoning, options considered, confidence, and mind-changes.

Responsibilities

• Set the strategy and operating model for Applied AI at Latent.
• Lead the team building production AI agents and intelligence systems.
• Own Latent Agent, evaluation framework, and shared foundations for new AI use cases.
• Establish evaluation practices guiding product, technical, and business decisions.
• Make build-versus-buy decisions across models, prompting, and post-training.
• Partner with Product, Engineering, and business leaders to define priorities.
• Guide technical direction while empowering leads and senior engineers.
• Build, hire, and develop a high-performing team with clear feedback.
• Create predictable, visible execution without unnecessary process.
• Own reliability of live AI systems, including monitoring and SLAs.
