Job summary

J&T in Schaumburg, IL is seeking a Manager of Applications Engineering to lead the Chicago Technical Center Applications Engineering organization. You will report to the Director and drive day-to-day operations, alignment of priorities, and execution of demonstrations and turnkey projects.

The role emphasizes mentoring engineers, building a world-class team, and ensuring customer commitments are met. Travel is approximately 10% as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent hands-on manufacturing experience required.
• Minimum eight years of progressive hands-on experience in CNC machining or manufacturing engineering.
• Experience leading technical teams and engaging in engineering activities.
• Strong knowledge of CNC setups, tooling, fixtures, and process optimization.

Responsibilities

• Lead the daily operations of the Applications Engineering Department.
• Coordinate priorities, workloads, schedules, and resources.
• Ensure customer demonstrations, turnkey projects, and trainings are delivered.
• Maintain showroom readiness and customer-ready machines at the Chicago Technical Center.
• Mentor and develop Applications Engineers and foster accountability and teamwork.
• Collaborate with Sales, Service, Operations, Marketing, and Leadership for project success.
