Job summary

Bausch + Lomb is seeking a Head of Forward Deployed Engineer to turn AI pilots into production across manufacturing, supply chain, quality, and IT. This hands-on leadership role ships production-ready AI solutions and ensures adoption in real operating environments.

You will lead a small FDE team, set technical standards, and collaborate with AI Delivery, Data, and IT to deliver as one team. A strong background in software engineering and cloud/API delivery is required.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, information systems, or related field.
10+ years in software engineering, solution implementation, with a track record of shipping production code.
Proficiency in Python and API/integration development; cloud experience (Azure/Google).
Hands-on experience with generative AI, agents, ML, workflow automation in production.
Experience deploying enterprise tech with business users and driving adoption.

Responsibilities

Build and deploy AI-enabled solutions (generative AI, agents, ML) that run in production.
Integrate with enterprise systems via APIs and data pipelines (e.g., SAP, plant, quality, supply chain).
Own prototype-to-production lifecycle: testing, security, release, monitoring, support.
Embed with plant leaders to understand real work and redesign processes around AI.
Lead and mentor the FDE team; define standards and accelerate deployments.
