Job summary

Signify Technology is seeking a Vice President of AI Engineering to lead the company's AI strategy and build a production-ready platform in Florida. This role reports to the CTO and owns the budget, roadmap, and team responsible for turning AI investments into shipped products.

The leader will guide ML, AI infrastructure, MLOps, and vendor relationships, while partnering with Product, Data, and Security to embed AI into our offerings.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in software or ML engineering with leadership experience.
• 5+ years leading engineering teams at manager or above.
• Proven ownership of AI or ML strategy and budget.
• Track record shipping AI/ML systems to production at scale.
• Hands-on Python and modern ML frameworks.
• Expertise with large language models including fine-tuning, RAG, and evaluation.
• MLOps experience: deployment, monitoring, lifecycle management.
• Experience deploying AI workloads in AWS, Azure, or GCP; aware of inference costs.
• Leadership experience building and retaining an engineering organization.
• Legally authorized to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Own the AI and machine learning engineering strategy and roadmap, aligned to commercial outcomes.
• Build, lead, and grow the AI engineering, ML, and MLOps teams, including hiring and mentoring.
• Set architectural direction for AI systems, including LLM integration, RAG, and agentic workflows.
• Take AI capabilities from prototype to production with evaluation, monitoring, and reliability.
• Own MLOps and model lifecycle: deployment, versioning, drift detection, retraining.
• Own AI infrastructure and compute spend, including model selection and build-versus-buy decisions.
• Establish responsible AI practice with governance, bias review, and data handling.
• Partner with Product, Data, and Security to embed AI into the product and operating model.
• Evaluate vendor landscape and manage commercial relationships.
• Act as the credible internal and external voice on what AI can deliver for the business.
