Job summary

Condé Nast is seeking a Director of Engineering for the Publishing Platform to lead a globally distributed team responsible for CMS, rights, planning and content APIs across 70+ sites. You will set technical direction, partner with product and editorial teams, and drive AI-native workflows to improve speed, quality and platform health while delivering scalable, product-like platforms.

This role requires strong architectural judgment, hands-on review of designs, and the ability to translate goals

Qualifications

• Proven experience leading and growing engineering teams building platforms as products with delivery accountability.
• Experience owning content management, publishing, or internal-platform systems.
• Track record leading distributed teams across multiple locations/time zones.
• Hands-on depth to review designs and code and engage with senior ICs.
• Strong architectural judgment in content systems, API design, and content workflows.
• Ability to build trusted relationships with product, design, and cross-functional partners.
• Experience driving AI-native workflows within a team, not just tolerance.
• Judgment on platform health vs delivery speed.

Responsibilities

• Lead and grow a global engineering team across CMS, rights, planning and content APIs.
• Own the platform roadmap in partnership with product management; align with editorial needs and technical debt.
• Collaborate with editorial, product and brand engineering partners to translate goals into platform plans.
• Drive AI-native delivery for authoring and editorial workflows; promote effective practices and balance speed with quality.
