Job summary

Condé Nast in New York is seeking an engineering leader to own delivery of best-in-class customer experiences, roadmap and scale across brands. You will lead engineers building the web app framework and consumer-facing surfaces, ensuring pace, reliability and quality.

This role requires hands-on leadership across architecture, tech choices and people management, partnering with product, design and editorial; you will drive AI-native working practices while aligning teams across locations.

Qualifications

• Proven experience leading and growing engineering teams delivering consumer-facing web at scale.
• Experience leading distributed teams across multiple locations and time zones.
• Strong hands-on credibility in modern front-end / web platform engineering.
• Ability to build strong cross-functional partnerships with product, design and editorial.

Responsibilities

• Lead and grow the Web applications team across multiple locations.
• Translate business goals into a credible technical roadmap and deliver against it.
• Set quality benchmarks and maintain momentum.
• Be hands-on: review code and unblock the team.
• Define technical direction with principal engineers and ensure adherence.
• Balance long-term architecture with short-term priorities to support business outcomes.
• Collaborate with product, design and editorial partners to align reader experience with engineering plans.
• Drive AI-native ways of working and responsible innovation.
