Job summary

Amazon's Frontier AI & Robotics team is seeking a Head of AI Data Collection & Operations to lead lab operations, contractor management, data-collection campaigns, and test-environment infrastructure in service of rapid, safe research progress.

You will define strategy, build scalable processes, and partner with researchers and engineering leaders to maximize velocity while ensuring safety and data integrity across global robotic initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree
• 10+ years of experience in an operations/technical/AI environment
• 7+ years of people-leadership experience managing large teams
• Ability to build, monitor, and improve operational processes
• Knowledge of hardware asset and maintenance management systems and continuous-improvement methodologies

Responsibilities

• Lead a 40–50 person contractor workforce spanning robot fleet operations, AI data collection, and test-environment construction
• Own robot fleet management end-to-end with maintenance programs and uptime KPIs
• Direct data-collection operations coordinating with researchers and data-engineering teams
• Develop and sustain test environments and infrastructure for evaluating robotic systems
• Define and report operational KPIs and communicate health to senior leadership
• Scale SOPs and workforce capabilities as programs grow
