Qualifications

• Lead research projects and portfolios from concept to results, including staffing and budgeting.
• Applied systems engineering techniques to complex system development.
• Design system architectures, perform functional analysis, develop requirements and decompose them.
• Develop and test system and interface architectures.
• Evaluate communications and data architectures.
• Model system requirements and architectures with logical/physical representations.
• Develop time-varying physics-based models.
• Use model-based approaches to supplement traditional test & evaluation techniques.
• Experience with complex systems (e.g., maritime, aerospace, unmanned).
• Experience writing white papers or reports.
• Active security clearance at Secret level or higher.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the Agile Systems Engineering Department, directing strategy, technical leadership, and operations.
• Build and direct a multidisciplinary team applying systems engineering.
• Mentor engineers applying systems engineering to complex problems.
• Develop sponsor relationships to meet funding objectives.
• Lead research projects and portfolios, including proposals, staffing, budgeting, and results.
• Foster partnerships with military, defense contractors, systems integrators, and government labs.
• Lead training on systems engineering for ARL staff and partners.
• Foster a culture of innovation and technical excellence.
• Support roadmap for embedded systems and integration methodologies.
• Build relationships with defense industry stakeholders.
• Collaborate across ARL and external stakeholders to apply SE activities.
