As we transform Mercer IT and Business into a truly agile organization, we are seeking a talented, collaborative Head of Agile Delivery and Transformation (Product Engineering) to help embed and evolve our Agile Delivery transformation.

You will own our Agile Transformation plan, tracking and realizing its benefits, and improving the adoption of our agile culture across our Engineering Teams.

You will serve as a key contact and escalation point for our Agile teams, supporting them through challenging delivery scenarios and collaborating with stakeholders in our business, operational teams, and the wider MMC Tech organization.

Working with Technology and Business leadership, business teams, and in partnership with the MMC development Centre of Excellence (COE), you’ll leverage your stakeholder management skills to promote and support the plan, influencing and coaching senior executives, many of whom will be new to Agile.

A key measure of your success will be fostering a culture of Continuous Improvement within all teams, enabling them to meet their improvement commitments.

Mercer operates in a complex technological landscape with a large portfolio of revenue-generating applications, significant security processes, and legislative requirements to protect customer data.

You will be an agile evangelist with practical experience implementing models in complex, ideally global organizations. Experience with adapting these models as AI becomes integral to our work and solutions is highly desirable.

Technically, you should have broad experience to engage meaningfully with our Tech teams and support the adoption of our target tech stack.

What can you expect:

• Our Product Delivery Engineering team aims to transform how Mercer Engineering teams work together to deliver quality, secure software rapidly through empowered teams.
• You will be responsible for rolling out our Agile at Scale Delivery model and ensuring the success of our teams’ missions.
• You will develop and manage processes around training and transformation to ensure they are repeatable and efficient.

We will rely on you to:

• Lead Mercer Global Technology's Agile Delivery Leaders, including Pod and Squad Leads.
• Serve as a key escalation point for delivery challenges.
• Be recognized as an Agile Expert, familiar with processes and practices for successful delivery.
• Provide inspirational leadership to encourage an agile mindset.
• Coach and transform traditional delivery teams to adopt Agile behaviors and processes.
• Support our Global Technology Engineering Leadership teams in our Agile Transformation Strategy.

What you need to have:

• Significant experience in organizational Agile transformation, preferably at scale, with proven strategies to build and shape Agile culture.
• Hands-on delivery experience at a senior level across multiple business lines and tech stacks.
• Breadth of technical understanding, from software architecture to test, DevOps, security, and operations.
• Leadership qualities capable of engaging and inspiring colleagues up to director level.

What makes you stand out:

• Experience across a wide range of technology roles, ideally with a development engineering background.
• Holistic understanding of Agile Methodologies; certifications like CSP, KMP, ICP-ACC are advantageous but not essential.
• Strong financial acumen, with ability to manage Engineering Delivery spend reporting and tracking.
• Vendor management experience to ensure vendor suitability for cross-functional teams.
