Job summary

Baker Tilly seeks a Head of Agent Engineering to shape the design, orchestration, and evaluation of the firm’s AI agents. You will set standards for task decomposition, memory management, tool use, and human-in-the-loop controls while owning BT Compass and the agentic product experiences.

You will lead hands-on engineering, review code, mentor teams, and partner with cross-functional groups to advance Baker Tilly’s agentic capabilities at scale.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of software engineering experience.
• 3+ years building and deploying LLM-based or agentic systems in production.
• Staff- or principal-level engineering experience with production agent systems.
• Strong knowledge of orchestration, tool calling, MCP, and memory management.
• Experience with evaluation harnesses, baselines, and regression testing to drive releases.
• Hands-on Python and/or TypeScript in production.

Responsibilities

• Define agentic reference patterns and orchestration standards.
• Own BT Compass end-to-end including agentic workflows.
• Build and own evaluation harness, baselines and regression discipline.
• Lead the Agent Factory and mentor engineers.
• Hire and develop full-stack AI engineers.
• Collaborate with Data & AI Platform, Design, Quality Engineering and India teams.
