Job summary

AlivaMab Biologics seeks a visionary head of the NGS and Bioinformatics Core to drive antibody discovery and engineering through NGS workflows and computational analyses. You will oversee sequencing, data processing, and AI/ML methods to map antibody repertoires and guide development with cross-functional teams.

Your leadership will shape data infrastructure, tool development, and collaboration with Protein Sciences, Antibody Engineering, and Discovery teams to accelerate timelines and quality.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, or related Life Sciences.
• 5+ years biotech/pharma or academic experience with bioinformatics and NGS data analysis.
• Hands-on NGS data analysis for antibody sequencing and repertoires.
• Proficient Python coding, bioinformatics workflow development.
• Experience applying AI/ML to antibody sequences and structure data.
• Understanding human immune repertoire biology and immunoglobulin genes.
• Excellent communication and collaboration across teams.
• Experience with NGS library prep, sequencing platforms, QC.

Responsibilities

• Lead development of bioinformatics pipelines for antibody sequences and repertoires.
• Apply AI/ML approaches for sequence analyses and epitope prediction.
• Oversee end-to-end NGS workflows, library prep, sequencing, QC, and analysis.
• Educate cross-functional teams on data interpretation and best practices.
• Collaborate with project leads on sequencing and computational reports.
• Represent bioinformatics in external partner interactions and reviews.
• Maintain rigorous records and SOPs using ELN systems.
