Job Description

English Valleys CSD is based in North English, Iowa. The Head MS Softball Coach leads the program with positivity and knowledge for girls completing 6th to 8th grade.

Key Responsibilities

• Leading the program: Ensure the program operates in alignment with district values, board policy, and IGHSAU regulations.
• Instruction and development: Instruct athletes in fundamental skills, strategies, and physical training necessary for individual and team success.
• Moral and social development: Provide instruction that fosters moral values, pride of accomplishment, acceptable social behavior, self-discipline, and self-confidence.
• Team culture: Foster sportsmanship, teamwork, and respect within the team.
• Performance evaluation: Evaluate athlete performance and provide constructive feedback.
• Academic support: Monitor academic eligibility and encourage academic success.
• Communication: Communicate expectations, roles, and progress with athletes and parents.

The Head Coach must have substantial knowledge of the technical aspects of softball and must continuously evaluate new theories and procedures relevant to the field. Responsibilities include supervising all student athletes, designing clinics, and training staff for growth.
