Job Description

English Valleys CSD is based in North English, Iowa, which is just 30 minutes west of the Iowa City/Coralville area.

An Asst HS Softball Coach is responsible for helping to lead the program with positivity and knowledge.

Key Responsibilities are:

Instruction and development: The coach instructs athletes in fundamental skills, strategies, and physical training necessary for individual & team success.
Moral and social development: The coach provides instruction that leads to the formulation of moral values, pride of accomplishment, acceptable social behavoir, self-discipline, and self-confidence.
Team culture: The coach fosters sportsmanship, teamwork, and respect within the team.
Performance evaluation: The coach evaluates athlete performance & provides constructive feedback.
Communication: The assistant coach communicates expectations, roles, & progress with head coach and athletes.

The Assistant Coach must have substantial knowledge of the technical aspects of the sport and must continue to examine new theories and procedures pertinent to the field. The position includes responsibilities such as supervising all student athletes, helping at clinics, and training and informing players for growth.
