Job Description

The English Valleys Community School District is seeking an Assistant HS Girls Track Coach to support the Head Coach in practice planning, skill development, and team management, focusing on athlete development, safety, and a positive training environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in designing and implementing practice plans, including drills, exercises, and warm‑up/cool‑down routines.
• Provide instruction and feedback to athletes on fundamental skills and techniques, focusing on individual event needs.
• Observe, assess, and provide feedback on athlete performance during practices and competitions.
• Support the Head Coach in team leadership, communication, and discipline.
• Foster a positive and encouraging environment that promotes teamwork, sportsmanship, and respect.
• Ensure athletes train safely, monitor for signs of fatigue or injury, and provide first aid if necessary.
• Communicate effectively with athletes, parents, and school personnel.
• Maintain accurate records of athlete attendance, performance, and equipment.
• Assist in organizing and maintaining team equipment and facilities.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by the Head Coach.

Qualifications

• A passion for track and field and a commitment to helping athletes reach their potential.
• Knowledge of track and field rules and regulations.
• Experience coaching or participating in track and field at a high school or collegiate level is preferred.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with the Head Coach and other staff members.

• Ability to maintain a calm and professional demeanor under pressure.
