Job summary

SUNY Sullivan is seeking a Head Men's Basketball Coach (Part-Time) to oversee program operation, recruitment, and student retention for NJCAA Division III. The role requires coordinating practices, game management, and staff supervision to support student-athlete success on and off the court.

The position reports to the Director of Athletics and requires weekend/evening hours. A Bachelor's degree and valid NYS driver's license are required, with MS Office proficiency and strong leadership

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree (Physical Education, Sports Management, Recreation, or related field) required (Master's preferred).
• Experience coaching at the collegiate level or athletic administration is required.
• Valid NYS Driver's License.
• Proficiency with MS Office software.
• Strong communication with students, athletes, staff, faculty, alumni, and parents.
• Ability to inspire achievement and leadership among students, athletes, and staff.

Responsibilities

• Direct and coordinate planning, organization, and coaching of SUNY Sullivan Men's Basketball program, including JV.
• Coordinate recruitment of players and manage team practices and game operations.
• Direct and supervise basketball staff, ensure compliance with College, NJCAA, and conference policies.
• Analyze opponent statistics and prepare game plans accordingly.
• Assist in scholarship determinations and student-athlete development.
