Job summary

The City of Idaho Falls is seeking a Head Lifeguard to ensure participant safety and supervise lifeguards during shifts. The position is temporary and part-time, with 15 to 30 hours per week and varying shifts.

Responsibilities include maintaining a clean pool area, enforcing safety rules, and coordinating aquatic staff. Required certifications listed below; background check may be required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED or equivalent; 1–3 months related experience.
• Able to read, write and present information clearly to patrons.
• Basic math skills and ability to compute rates and percentages.
• Basic computer skills including MS Publisher and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Lead lifeguards and coordinate shifts for each period.
• Ensure pool area, guardroom, and surrounding areas are clean and safe.
• Enforce safety rules, respond to emergencies, and document incidents.
• Assist with scheduling, training, and personnel evaluations as needed.
• Maintain chemical balance and keep required reports up to date.
